THE 2% INVESTMENT!
![]() |
What is investment? Investment is something where you put your money into banks, businesses, properties, bonds, etc in the hope that you’ll earn profit from it, correct? But that is the financial definition of investment.
What is the meaning of investing in yourself? Well, it’s the same definition the only difference is an investment in finance is done with money while the investment in yourself is done with time!
Since childhood your teachers, parents, successful people all asked you to read, but why to read? Why is it so necessary to read all the time? Why can’t I just do that in school, and never again? Well, in that case, why can’t I work out for 4-5 months get in shape and never work out again? It doesn’t work like that, does it? If you stop working out then the fat and unnecessary stuff will in a way get stored in your body and you’ll go out of shape. The same happens with your brain! You are continuously consuming junk from social media and other things happening in your life. Reading a book is like working out for your brain!
I am not that good at math but this sure does make sense
To read a page on an average a person will take 3 minutes. So reading 10 pages will take 30 minutes. So out of the 1440 minutes (so much time right? Half of you didn’t even read the number) you have in a day, give only 30 minutes for reading and the other 1410 minutes do whatever you like. It’s easy, right? So if you just invest mere 2% of your ENTIRE DAY i.e 30 minutes you’ll end up reading 190 pages in 19 days, 300 pages in a month, and around more than 3000 pages in a year!

HOW TO TURN WHAT YOU JUST READ INTO REALITY
Well I know reading can be hard, sometimes boring or just it gets difficult after some time to FOCUS. If it’s difficult for you to read for 30 minutes straight then you can try reading for 10 minutes 3 times a day.
And if you are new to reading or if it’s difficult for you then try reading comic books, graphic novels, or short stories! Try reading books which have simple vocabulary, easy to understand and are comparatively short, so that you finish quicker instead of finding a book boring and getting stuck on it.
