THE FINISHING LINE

Life is like a puzzle and everyone’s got a different one. Some get a maze; some get a jigsaw; while a few others get a crossword. And you have to understand that they are different puzzles and they need to be solved in their own different and unique way.

Sometimes it just happens to be that most of us don’t know what puzzle we have got, but we have to try using different methods of solving a puzzle to understand the type of puzzle we have got ourselves. Some figure it out quickly and while others might need multiple attempts to know what their puzzle is actually like. And unless you know the type of your puzzle you can’t get the solution. So to know your puzzle, to get clarity, and to understand what you are made for, you have to keep trying new things and exploring different fields until you find what suits you. If you are afraid of trying new things or if you get too comfortable procrastinating, you’ll end up in a state where it’ll make no sense to you, as you have failed to understand your puzzle and also you have wasted a lot of time.

In fact, looking at it from a different perspective, we make our own puzzles. Life is like a puzzle and the puzzle is made by us and for us. YOU make your own puzzle and not your parents or relatives or let peer pressure let you make a puzzle similar to your friend’s. [As I said, “Don’t let temporary people make permanent changes in your life” (Refer to MOO Point)]

Now you may see some people have already finished solving their puzzles, but you got to remember that simpler puzzles are easy to solve. Simpler puzzles have fewer pieces and they get solved easily. When you have goals you cannot explain to people when you have high ambitions, your puzzle isn’t going to have a few pieces, in fact, it’s going to have a thousand pieces and it’ll take you time to complete it. And to be honest, until you complete it, in other words as long as it is incomplete, people are going to view it and at you as a failure. Someone who hasn’t figured out life or someone who hasn’t achieved success but what they don’t know is the size of your puzzle. It’s you who knows it, it’s you who can picture it and lastly and more importantly it’s you who’s going to complete it. So, as long as the puzzle keeps making sense to you, you keep going.

We tend to get stuck when we are figuring out puzzles, it’s common and it surely doesn’t make you any dumber. And when we are stuck, we need a hint to move forward. So, take hints. Hints are important. Slash your ego aside or gain some courage that you are clearly lacking and, go ask for that advice; advice which will make all the difference; advice, from people whose puzzle is similar to yours.     Just because people with smaller puzzles have finished and are celebrating their success shouldn’t make you feel any smaller, you just have to believe in yourself, have the patience that is extremely needed and keep working on it. Not everyone is going to get glorified at the same time. Remember, bigger projects take time but if you do things right then the success is going to be as big as your puzzle.

But you know, making a smaller puzzle just so that you can complete it quickly and celebrate isn’t such a good idea. I mean, how long are you going to celebrate? And what will you do when you are done celebrating? Life gets boring! Instead, have bigger puzzles; never-ending puzzles! Puzzles that’ll keep you going, otherwise you’ll just remain stagnant and get bored of your life which will in turn lead to frustration and dissatisfaction. You can observe people and see that some of them feel and call themselves old at the age of forty (because they chose a smaller puzzle) while on the other hand there are people in their eighties who still feel young.

See, life ends when your puzzle ends. Your soul dies; when your puzzle ends. Never reach the finishing line because as the line says IT IS THE FINISHING LINE.
